Deep Cuts

Before The Fan Factor. Before Vagaro. Before social media existed to scroll through.

Mike Cav learned the messy craft of making things while cutting animated TV commercials frame-by-frame at Colossal Pictures, editing launch films for Apple and Adobe, producing work that had to survive the scrutiny of the world's most demanding brands. Eight years working alongside Phil Tippett on his stop-motion masterpiece, Mad God. Feature film VFX on Star Wars and Twilight. Shorts, docs, music videos, youth filmmaking workshops up and down the Bay Area.

All of it was hours on the mat. All of it built the instinct for what works and the spirit of collaboration and experimentation that drives The Fan Factor today — the ability to go deep into what makes a story special, and turn that into video that moves people.

These are the Deep Cuts. This is where those instincts were trained.
